Writing data management plans for grant proposals using DMPTool In-Person / Online
As of December 31st 2025, all federal agencies that fund research will have updated Public Access Plans that require some sort of Data Management Plan (DMP) accompany grant proposals for research funding. Some agencies, such as NSF and NIH, have been requiring Data Management or "Data Management and Sharing" Plans. These documents lay out the qualities of the data that will be collected, how it will be stored and protected, how and where it will be shared, and who will be responsible for managing the data.
This workshop will cover the basics of writing funder-required DMPs and using DMPtool.org, a resource to help format, fill, and collaborate on DMPs. Templates such those on DMPTool help produce higher-quality DMPs in less time.
